Photo taken at the Homecoming game vs Washington State on the 25th of September. The Utah football program began in 1892 and has played home games at the beautiful Rice-Eccles Stadium since 1927.

This panorama, taken by Christopher Gjevre, captures the Utah Utes football team playing its season opener against in-state opponent, the Utah State Aggies. Utah and Utah State is the oldest rivalry in Utah football history, with the two schools competing in over 110 games since 1892. While the Utes and Aggies no longer compete in the same conference, the two programs will continue to face one another in competition. The Utah football program began in 1892 and has played home games at the beautiful Rice-Eccles Stadium since 1927. This game marked Utah's first-ever “Stripe the Stadium” promotion, asking Ute fans to wear either red or white, depending on the location of their seats.

This panorama of Rice-Eccles stadium depicts a consistent red glow throughout the stadium, as Utah Utes fans created a sea of red against in-state rival BYU. Separated by just 45 miles, this game has a long and storied history that includes their time in the same conference, when the winner of the battle often decided the conference title. The two teams and fan bases have a long-lasting rivalry competing as the top program in the state of Utah.

This panorama, taken by James Blakeway, spotlights the on-court action between the Utah Runnin’ Utes and the San Diego State Aztecs at Jon M. Huntsman Center. This nationally televised game marked the Utes annual “Stripe the Huntsman” event. To create the splendid stripes shown in the crowd, fans were encouraged to represent their section by wearing red or white depending on their ticket location, resulting in an impressive display of Utah pride. This game was one of 16 college basketball games played within a 24-hour non-stop marathon period signifying the start of the season.
